Minister-Sister Melissa A. Johnson is a native Washingtonian, a mother, grandmother, and trusted friend. Sister Melissa accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior early in life, however it was in 1996 when she was baptized and her transformational journey with Jesus began. She lives her life in humble service to God and his people. She is an ordained Evangelist serving at the Historic St. Paul AUMP Church in Washington, DC and her Pastor is Apostle Nelson Bernie Dorsey. Her ministry spans from the local Washington, DC metropolitan area to East Africa. A powerful preacher and teacher, as well as a dedicated intercessory pray-er, Evangelist Melissa is also a gifted motivator and exhorter. These gifts are matched by an unquestionable and demonstrated compassion for all people. Sister Melissa is active in several national and community organizations.
In 2013, God graced Sister Melissa to birth Restoration Women’s Conference (RWC), an bi-annual life changing spiritual event for all women, regardless of their relational status, age or religion. In 2018, she hosted The Power Conference in Capital Heights, MD sponsored by TSC. She is clear that her mandate from God is to set the atmosphere to draw souls closer to the healing power of God’s heart. Drawing from personal experience, she shares God’s restoration process to destroy strongholds of addiction, oppression and brokenness that impact the lives of women and their families from all walks of life. She is an anointed Holy Ghost filled speaker, worshiper, prayer warrior, servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and author of the book “Awakening to Me” available at .
Professionally, Melissa is a passionate community advocate and civil servant with more than 20 years of federal experience working to ensure that the federal workforce is trained and educated on anti-discriminations laws, prohibited workplace practices, and inclusive. She currently works for NOAA Fisheries Office for EEO and Diversity as a Senior Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist and Diversity and Inclusion Officer. She is committed to ensuring that her office provides all staff excellent customer service to the furtherance of fairness, diversity and inclusion and where all staff are valued and all employees have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Melissa has a keen eye for solution driven strategies that produce successful outcomes. She has been recognized for creating a strong D&I metric that measures and tracks diversity and inclusion and supports sustainability. She is a certified EEO and D&I Specialist, she has received certifications as Ombudsman, Mediator, and MBTI Facilitator, and she is a certified John C. Maxwell trained team member.
